Materials

Choosing the components

FYE has developed a shoe made almost entirely from recycled materials and materials resulted from organic farming.

Two models available: one from organic cotton, the other from recycled polyester made from bottles.

The sole is composed for 50% of recycled shoes, 25% of natural rubber and 25% of synthetic rubber for resistance.

The laces and the lining are from organic cotton.

The insole is made of recycled shoes, sawdust, 25% of natural rubber and 25% of synthetic rubber.

FYE has replaced the traditional toxic adhesives by non-toxic water adhesives.

Finally, the dyes and pigments used are natural or certified non-toxic.

Production Cycle

Beyond the components of the shoe FYE is involved in the entire production cycle:

  • We invest in the production site to establish a long term relationship and improve working conditions by donating 5% of the price of the shoe to finance projects related to health, among others.
  • The size of the shoe box has been reduced to limit the amount of cardboard. It is made of entirely recyclable cardboard. We have also removed the jammed paper to reduce waste.
  • The POP (Point of Purchase Advertising) is made entirely from recycled and recyclable materials.
  • We encourage you to recycle your FYE at the end of their life, by bringing them to a Le Relais terminal near you.

In short, each of our actions is reconsidered to have a minimum impact on the available natural resources.

Benefits of organic cotton

Conventional cotton is very polluting, since it requires a very high dose of pesticides. Indeed, nearly 25% of global pesticides are used on these crops, which represent less than 5% of cultivated areas.

This overuse of pesticides has a significant impact both on producers and on the environm
